New Interview: Q&A with Robin Tunney

Image
New Interview with Robin, released by Anthem Magazine A gaggle of teens with the “coolest job in the world”—hawking music while listening to same—are faced with the impending sale of their beloved record store to a big and shiny tunes chain. Four teenage girls at a Catholic prep school form a coven of witches to strike back at their peers and use their newfound sorcery for personal gain. At the end of the second millennium, Satan visits New York City in search of a bride to bear the Antichrist—over Arnold Schwarzenegger’s dead body. The connecting thread between Empire Records, The Craft, and End of Days is of course Robin Tunney, who hit it big in the late ‘90s and has grown to show as much longevity in her career as the select films from her body of work—cult phenoms, if not cultural touchstones by some measure. Now most widely recognized for her seven-year tenure on The Mentalist, which ended its run in 2015, the actress is teaming up with Nicolas Cage in Tim Hunter’s Looki...

New Interview: Robin Tunney Talks Looking Glass and The Craft

Image
Another new interview released by FoxNews in which Robin talks about her new movie released today, Looking Glass, and also some of her iconic roles such as in Craft and Empire Records. Robin Tunney has starred in some of the most iconic films from the ‘90s, but these days she’s opening a creepy motel alongside Nicolas Cage just for a good thrill. The duo star as a married couple in “Looking Glass,” a voyeuristic film where they are faced with disturbing, unexplained events occurring inside of what should be a desert oasis. Tunney, who captivated teens in cult classics like “Empire Records” and The Craft,” said she’s been waiting for years to work alongside Cage —and it was worth it. Fox News spoke with Tunney about what surprised her the most about Cage, her favorite memory with Arnold Schwarzenegger and whether she stays in touch with her former cast mates from “The Craft.” To continue reading the interview, click on Read More.

New Interview: Robin Tunney on Looking Glass and Working with Nicolas Cage

Image
New Interview in which Robin talks about Looking Glass and working with Nicolas Cage, published by Film School Rejects Robin Tunney cannot believe she gets to act alongside Nicolas Cage. To hear her tell it, titans like Robert De Niro have nothing on the man who drowned misery in Leaving Las Vegas and overshadowed James Bond in The Rock. Frequent readers of Film School Rejects already know this. If you have not been consuming Chris Coffel’s weekly excursions into The Tao of Cage, then you’ve simply been doing life wrong. Cage is a major presence in cinema, and every film he has blessed is worth your attention. Fellow actors are scrambling over themselves to work with him, and to study him. Tunney rearranged her life to make it happen. Looking Glass, from director Tim Hunter (River’s Edge), is a ruthless little thriller. After a couple loses their child to an unnamed tragedy, they uproot themselves from their safe and knowable surroundings to rediscover purpose as motel propriet...

In an effort to get a fresh start and move on with their lives they decide to purchase a motel off an ad they see on Craigslist. Neither has any experience running a motel, but their hope is that moving to a small town and trying something new will allow them to clear their heads. Read the rest of the review HERE

With her new film, Looking Glass, Tunney stars as a woman relocating to a motel in the desert that's a hot spot of seedy activity, as she and her husband (Nicolas Cage) get in over their heads. As far as what drew the actress to the role, it didn't require more knowledge than the opportunity to work with Cage. "The director, Tim Hunter, I'd worked with before in the '90s, and I really liked him, and I just had a baby, and they're like, 'Do you want to come and do this movie?'
