"THE MENTALIST Season 3" is going to broadcast on "Super! Drama TV" on May 23rd. 


Robin Tunney came to Japan. 
She has appeared in the drama. 




It's a detective drama, Patrick Jane works to cooperate with the CBI team as a consultant. 
In Season 3, Red John makes approaches to Jane. 
He has a large number of people who assists him in a plot, it seems like a large organization. 
Robin plays Teresa Lisbon, who's the leader of her team of senior investigators. 
She is completely trusted by subordinates, superiors and Jane. 


- Please tell me about Teresa Lisbon. 


Teresa Lisbon lost her mother when she was young. Then she lived with her brothers. 
So, she is used to be around boys. 
She has strong maternal instincts, because she had to take care of her younger brothers. 


But, really, she is a lonely woman. 
I think her close relationship with Jane is the best time she has ever had. 
Jane is the only person that she was able to open up her mind to. 


- Do you and Lisbon are similar? 


I was a tomboy like her. 
We resemble each other in the sense that we have been working as hard as we can. 
However, I think that I am unskillful to work in discipline and organization. 
She is very good at it. 


And, she has an emphasis on discipline. 
She has been trying to protect as well as ejecute the judicial system properly. 
The relationship between Jane and Lisbon it's interesting since they have opposite personalities. 


- What's Simon Baker personality like? 


Simon is a great actor. 
I think he's able to show that to us by how he plays Jane. 
Jane had his wife and child killed by Red John. He has passion for revenge. 


His character is very dark. 


However, he's very charming when played by Simon. 


I think it's a reason why many tv audiences support this drama, because he's charming. 
His charm and the story of Red John. I think it's the reason for the success of this drama. 




- When you played the investigator, do you have something mem from an episode? 


Previously, a high school classmate was married to a man of the FBI. When I met with him in person, at the time, he said: "I have been involved in a certain case nearly two and a half years." 


I heard it and said. "Then, I'm a better investigator than you! 
Because we need only 44 minutes to close the case." (laughs)




- What do you watch out for when you play the criminal investigator? 


I think "The investigator always has to act". 


Because, a team boss like Lisbon must not show them her genuine emotions, so if she feels fear, she shall show people that she can control herself. Even if it's just a charade. 
I'm always showing my feelings openly. 
However, investigators always must have deliberately suppressed emotions. 
So, I always have to play it on purpose. 


- Please tell us about the action scenes. 


I think I have good reflexes. 


However, I am prone to injuries. 
Once, when I was shooting at the pier in Santa Monica before the public, I ran at full speed. 
So I tripped and stumbled over a nail. 
I felt my body floating. I fell down really hard and got hurt on my hands and feet. 
It was very embarrassing. 
I said to myself like a child "It's okay". (laughs)


- Finally, please tell us the highlights of season 3. 


You can see that a spy of Red John's is creeping into the CBI. 
We're going to be looking for who it is. 
The exciting suspense will continue. 
Then, the new boss will come through. 
The new manager was played by Aunjanue
Ellis, she's really great. 
In addition, there has been an increase in action than the previous seasons!
