Robin Tunney began her journey in Los Angeles when she was just 18 years old, in the tv series "Life Goes On".
A tomboy name for a tiny yet sensual girl, American actress with Irish origins- her dad emigrated from Ireland and her mom is a first-generation Irish-american.
Robin was born June 19, 1972 in Chicago. Her first passion was basketball, though she had to stop due to a severe injury.
Her first big role was in "Empire Records", even if all the fans especially remember her as Sarah in "The Craft" (1996).
For the movie "Niagara Niagara" she won the Volpi Cup.
After a few other movies, including Supernova, Vertical Limit and the unsuccessful "Paparazzi", we find her in the first season of the tv series "Prison Break", in which she plays the role of the attorney Veronica Donovan.
In 2005 she plays in the movie "The Zodiac", in 2006 with Ben Affleck and Adrien Brody in Hollywooodland and in 2008 in "The Burning Plain" with Charlize Theron.
In 2008 she starts to work with Simon Baker in the CBS' tv series "The Mentalist", in which she plays the role of Teresa Lisbon, head of the CBI Unit. With the help of her faithful team and her consultant Patrick Jane she manages to close her cases. Her character Teresa Lisbon is not so different from Veronica Donovan in Prison Break: both with a difficult past that they have managed to face with a great willpower. In the surface, Teresa appears to be introvert, and bursque yet inside lays an emotional and passionate woman. She has an up and down relationship with Patrick Jane, they tease eachother, but she often admits that he's a valid team member. After three seasons the relationship between the two appears to be more consolidated.
The secret of this series' success is certainly due to the chemistry between the two main actors. In and out the set there's a strong frienship between Simon Baker and Robin Tunney. Recently she said about him:"Everybody talks about him. My dad always talks about him, he has a crush on him. When I call him he says 'I watched the episode last night. Simon took my breath away'.
