Robin Tunney: "It's terrible to say, but Simon Baker is perfect!".
Revealed by Prison Break, she's having a great success with The Mentalist.
Interview by Hervé Tropéa, our correspondent in Hollywood.
Exclusive chat with the actress who play the role of Teresa Lisbon, who receives us at the series' set in Burbank, in the suburbs of Los Angeles.
Télé-Loisirs: The Mentalist has a great success in France. Are you surprised?
Robin Tunney: Not at all, I know French people have good taste. They loved "Columbo", and The Mentalist is like the new millennium Columbo. It's not a series that focuses on new techologies, and uses and abuses them. The actors don't have the feeling to be like robots in this series that tries to focus on people's behaviour.
Télé-Loisirs: How it is working with Simon Baker?
Robin Tunney: Simon is very professional. As he arrives on set, he's already prepared, and I feel safe. For an actress, it has no price. Things are definetely better than they were in Prison Break!
Télé-Loisirs: Are you among the women who are fascinated by his charm?
Robin Tunney: He is charming indeed. Even a lamp would fall in love with Simon Baker! His hair look spick-and-span in the morning. It's terrible to say, but he's perfect and I'm not surprised by the success he has with women, especially the ones in their fifties. The more they get older, the more they love him! (Laughs)
Télé-Loisirs: There seems to be a good atmosphere in the set. It is really like this?
Robin Tunney: I think everyone here is happy, from the director, the producer, the technicians. Unlike other series' sets where the actors don't get along very well, here we are like a family.
Télé-Loisirs: How do you see your character's development?
Robin Tunney: Teresa is complex: her mother was killed when she was a child and her dad killed himself. I think that with the time she will do everything she can to get closer to Patrcik Jane and open up more.
